Two weeks ago I bought dd a pair of start-rite shoes. She's a bit of a moaner and said she didn't like them. She's only just 4 and I presumed the leather was a little hard or that she was used to slopping around in her Doodles shoes and would get used to them. Anyway I looked at her feet the other day and found her toes are rather red after she's been wearing them. I feel so bad. I want to take them back but I'm not sure of my rights. I went to a proper shoe shop and as I am not a professional shoe-fitter assumed that they would fit her properly and they obviously haven't. Has anyone else ever taken back a pair of obviously worn shoes and got a refund? I don't want a credit note as I'd rather go somewhere else now. I have my receipt.
