i hate it when
:strangers make eye contact and don't smile!
:i see ANY boring sofa ads
:People in the car behind come right up my backside.makes me go slower for badness
: i see a little toddler running behind an adult being shouted at to "HURRY UP"
;people in shops talk down to you!

c'mon, let me know what pet hates you all have!

OP posts:
Northerner · 15/10/2003 12:35

When shop assistants don't say please and thank you

when my colleague sighs and huffs and puffs cause she is 'sooooooooo busy'

when I have to leave ds at nursery and come to work

when my Mum is upset and I feel so far away

Frenchgirl · 15/10/2003 12:35

I hate it when my sil phones up and goes on and on about her problems without asking once about us, especially dd, and if I tell her our news she goes completely silent until she can get started on her own stuff again. Grrrrrr
I hate it when people are rude to their kids
I hate it when people don't have a sense of humour

whatsaname · 15/10/2003 12:36

I hate it when my toast goes cold or I am served cold toast... in fact any cold toast.

I just tried to post this and it disappeared - apologies if it appears twice (or I've posted on the wrong thread)

waterbaby · 15/10/2003 12:43

I hate cold toast too whatsaname - if the butter doesn;'t melt, its not for me!

Jenie · 15/10/2003 12:45

Ds puts cutlery in the milk carton and it rattles until it's empty enough to get the cutlery out.

When parents scream at their children for no real reason.

When I remember that I live 3hrs drive from my family and I don't drive.

When sales assistants just want you to go away and are rude.

When it rains and I've forgotten the rain cover for my buggy.

When parents at the school gates whisper about me and my children.

When mil calls and makes bitchy comments about sil.

whatsaname · 15/10/2003 12:50

I hate that my xp is rude and abusive when he picks dd up for a visit. I hate it when he calls me a c*nt in front of her. I hate it when I ask him not to say that in front her and he says it even more to annoy me. I hate the fact that I don't tell him what I think of him because I don't want her to pick up on that fact that I'm upset or angry, I hate the fact that he yells abuse down the phone at me whilst she's in the car with him, I hate the fact that I just want to tear his head off... I'm ranting - sorry.

whatsaname · 15/10/2003 12:58

Oh no I've killed the thread with my rant... I'm really sorry...

...retracting rant and bad thoughts!!

doormat · 15/10/2003 13:05

I hate it when people squabble-life is too short

people having no manners

children or anyone being abused of any kind- we werent put on this planet to be treated badly

I hate it when the house is a mess too

CountessDracula · 15/10/2003 13:12

when dd cries and I can't stop her with a quick cuddle, makes me think she must be in real pain

when the dog looks sad and I feel I'm neglecting her for dd
But then I remember she's a hound and they do look sad

when my house is a pigsty even though the cleaner left 3 hours ago

when we have finished our bottle of wine and it only seemed like 1 glass !

Angiel · 15/10/2003 13:15

my dh really wants something on Ebay and my ds turns the computer off minutes before it ends and I miss out. Cue one grumpy dh!!

When the credits after a drama or whatever on TV are squashed small so that they can tell you about a forthcoming attraction - just when i was wnating to see who a certain actor was.

DH doesn't get this as he doesn't 'do' names - 'you know thingy who was in whatsit' is his usual description of someone he recognises.

And the messy house..........and the IRONING piles (not just one now)

mammya · 15/10/2003 14:24

I hate it when shop assistants/check out people don't make eye contact/say hello
When a mother tell me that her child never eats anything and then I only ever see the child with a packet of crisps
When people don't give up their seat on the bus for OAPs/pregnant women/people with small children
When my dd totally ignores what I've just told her
I hate it that my x can't be a responsible father to my dd.

lou33 · 15/10/2003 14:29

Mammya, I can't bear it when the checkout assistant is chatting away, and I finish the transaction without a single word being exchanged, or any eye contact being made! Grrrrr!

Angeliz · 15/10/2003 15:24

oooooh yes another pet hate, assistants chatting. I was in a clothes store once at the till, 2 year old in toe and 4 of them yapping.....well, i could stand no more and said "EXCUSE ME, is anyone going to serve me"..their united reply was."ooohhh Claire is on her dinner!!!"........I assumed Claire was the only one who could use the till and told them so and flounced out!!!

A colleague ruins my (v) late lunch by announcing (rather loudly to the whole office) 'NOT ANOTHER CAKE!!'

...it wasn't a cake, it was a chocolate and caramel brownie and what business is it of his anyway!

Loobie · 15/10/2003 17:37

My ex coming into the house to see the kids and taking 15 minutes before even offering any communication in dd's direction.

The cold weather(though it gives me a good excuse to get into my pj's and snuggle up with ds's and dd)

My ds's fighting with each other.

Seeing kids being dragged about and screamed at by parents or anyone really.

Any of my children being unwell.

That'll do for now!

helenmc · 15/10/2003 17:39

I hate school when everything organised is during working hours.

ThomCat · 15/10/2003 17:46

I hate it when people have no manners - when you pull in for them and they don't say thanks, when you hold a door open and they just walk through.

I hate it when DP and I argue

I hate it when I feel anyone is off with me and I'm not sure why

Monday mornings!

When DD has a horrid cold

These are great!

I hate it too when anyone is upset with me and I can't resolve it with them.

I used to hate being sensitive, trying to come to terms with it.

I hate rudeness, bigotry and hippocracy (sp?).
Hate being a bad speller.
I hate waiting for test results!
I hate bouncing checks.
I hate not being able to resolve a problem immediately.
I hate when anyone is sad.
I hate when anyone is sick.
I hate watching animals die.
I hate it when I can't fall asleep.
I hate getting a traffic ticket.
I hate watching other parents criticize their children. I hate it when people are impatient while others are learning.

Enough hate for the moment! Bored you to tears I bet! :0

fisil · 15/10/2003 18:40

... I keep remembering all the stupid things I've said
... I'm told to do something I am in the process of doing
... I get home and dp isn't home yet
... my Mum makes herself the centre of everything
... ds or dp are not well
... I have to miss work cos I'm not well
... I cough or sneeze or laugh, because I think "why do I bother doing all those pelvic floor exercises?"

forestfly · 15/10/2003 19:16

  • showering when the house is cold (every morning now. Today I am late & smelly)
  • getting cross with my boys - they're angels!

  • dh loosing his temper with the boys.

  • worrying - all the bloody time.

  • people strolling across pedestrian crossings, making no attempt to even pick up their pace, or say thank you for stopping for them. (I always stop & if ped. always hurry & say thank you)

  • people crossing the road (and making you stop for them) when there's a crossing 2 feet away.

  • gratuitous swearing.

  • ingratitude

whatsaname · 16/10/2003 10:26

hormonal old bags that leave snotty notes on my car about parking in the mother & chid bays at Tescos just because I have a sports car...

...can they not see the CHILD SEAT and the PARKING BADGE!

"Thanks for being really considerate and using a mother and baby space, I think your really rude and your car should be clamped. sports cars are NOT family cars"... bad day love!?!!
