If there is something wrong and you DIDN'T call you'd feel worse! I think you did the right thing

No.

I was in the car with dh once when someone did the same thing to us flashing/beeping etc and then drew up alongside. Dh was getting ready for a road rage type incident and then we were informed that there were flames coming from our exhaust!

You definitely did the right thing, our car nearly blew up .

rivig · 15/10/2003 11:28

I would say you did the right thing no doubt about it but can imagine how you might be feeling right now. Good on you robinw - lots of people wouldn't give a stranger the time of day you did more than that, so hope you are feeling a bit better soon.

robinw I think you did the right thing.

I once owned a car which burst into flames in my neighbour's driveway just after I had got out it

tigermoth · 16/10/2003 08:06

frightening stories here. You definiitely did the right thing, robinw. If I was in danger I hope someone would do the same. Hope you feel less shaken up this morning.

Yeah, hope its all a bit calmer this morning - you did the right thing by calling the police - easier (and safer) than tailgating them all of the way home!

waterbaby · 16/10/2003 08:20

It always happens on the same day, doesn't it? Hope the wing mirror isn't too expoensive - mine cost a fortune

Bogwoppit · 16/10/2003 09:18

robinw. As a guider i didn't know about the cheap coop jaffa cakes being made ina nut handling factory. BUT i fI was aware she had an allergy - which I assume they are-I would make every effort to ensure there was a selection of food she could eat.

I had a Guide with a nut allergy & everything we used in cooking/for parties was checked B4 it was bought so she didn't feel left out. So not all Guiders are the same

Hope todayis a better day for you.

JJ · 16/10/2003 12:02

What a bad day! Hope today is massively better. Good on you for ringing the police-- I hope someone would do that for me if I was driving an unsafe car.

robinw poor you. not sure about wing mirrors, can't see anyhting in highway code.

sounds like your dd has a real idiot guider.

Eeek · 16/10/2003 13:30

Hi - you have to have two rear facing mirrors legally (I believe) so if you've still got your driver's mirror and one wing mirror you're covered, although since you're used to having it there it'll be a real pain without it. Sorry you've had such a bad couple of days

SofiaAmes · 16/10/2003 23:39

try a breakers yard for a replacement mirror. Just make sure you show up with your own screwdrivers because you have to dismantle your own mirrors.
