wher can i get a table and chairs that can be delivered before xmas

i have been let down by harvey's i ordered a lovely chunky table with six long brown leather chairs,i phoned today as they asked, the day before delivery to get my delivery time, only to be told that i wouldn't be getting my table and chairs until 15th jan, (so i had to cancel order) i'm so angry they promised me it would be here before christmas. i have 11 people coming round for xmas dinner and now i have no table.help where can i get one????? must be beech with brown leather chairs.

Next Home/ Next Directory? Or if you live near Ikea you could collect yourself.

We had the same problem 3 years ago. In the end we went to a local bargain furniture shop that sold seconds and end of line. We got an extendable table, dresser and 4 chairs (could have had 6 but we decided we didn't have the space - I really regret it now) for well below the usual retail park prices, and I've not seen a similar one anywhere else. It's also much nicer than the glass /beech/chrome ones that were filling the shops at the time.
If I remember rightly it was a second as there was a small scratch on the table pedestal, and the dresser had a shelf clip missing. But with having kids I reasoned that it would soon be covered in more marks so perfection wasn't an issue.
All delivered and assembled the next day free of charge.
If I was doing it again I'd look in antiques shops. My local one has a lovely 100 year old solid oak refectory table and 8 chairs at the moment for a grand. I just can't justify the expense of changing at the moment but I'm very tempted.

Should add that we bought it 3 days before Christmas so it was delivered on Christmas eve, a 60 mile round trip for them.
