drives me mad. I wake up at about 10.30pm. I'm studying at the moment and I feel motivated and inclined to get on with it and concentrate late at night. fine in prekid days but now I have to get up at 7 it just doesn;t work. It drives me up the wall. Anyone fought and conquered their circadian rythmns? or is it a loosing battle?

You sound like me.

I have fought it with some success (and at the age of 38 now reluctantly acknowledge that the morning is in fact the best time to get stuff done, particularly of an academic nature.)

My cure???
Two children who wake me before 7 every day of the week and a dh who is mostly away.

I appear to have a clock that makes me 15 minutes late for everything. It's hell. Wish I could change it.

I've always been a nightowl - lark-type behaviour doesn't suit me. But when I do go to bed early...I love it. I just can't get organised enough to do it regularly!

Wilbur, I've got one of those too!

I thought it would resolve naturally as I got older, but no. I thik it's something to do with my internal perception of how long it takes to do things - you know - "in the ten minutes before I have to walk out the door I will be able to put on a load of washing, change ds2's nappy, load the dishwasher, call my aunt, and order that thing that dh wants for xmas from that internet site I can't remember the name of". Sigh. Hatstand - I know what you mean though, I always feel if I could leap out of bed in the morning, raring to go, things would be far better.

I fell asleep on the train tonight - at about 6. Now I'm wide awake. drives me up the blummin wall.

I tried not eating carbohydrates in the afternoon when I was working in order to avoid that glucose induced afternoon slump which seemed to work quite well.

(However am now a dribbling halfwit sahm so less motivated to sharpen up...)
