I think my HV makes up a lot of the stuff she says. She's wierd, nods a lot, smiles inanely, says mmmmmm right, then starts talking about something completely different as she's not been listening at all. Am going into town tomorrow so will go to GP with a list of my complaints and get them to get me a shiney new HV.

Just wondering how you got on pfer?

pfer · 30/11/2005 11:17

Bomper - going in to the GP's this afternoon to ask them to sort it out for me. I'm taking a list of my issues with me to give to them.

Thanks for asking

Bomper - quick update. Been to GP who apparently don't have a practice manager to speak to so I told the receptionist lady what the prob. was & gave her a letter briefly outlining my prob with my HV. She said that one of the Dr's dealt with the gen running of the surgery so she'd speak to him and someone would be in touch with me soon. Apparently the HV in question has been with them for years and she's really suprised that someone doesn't get on with her. I pointed out that I do not want 'that woman' near my children or myself again and have also asked to see a copy of my & my kids records that the HV has made. I'll keep you informed.

Sorry I didn't post back sooner, I have only just seen your post. Mad day yesterday!!!! Glad you have got the ball rolling. Just because no-one has complained before doesn't mean there isn't a problem, and you need to have a rapport with someone to whom you are telling all your problems, worries etc., so it is important for you to have someone you feel at ease with and confidant that they know what they're talking about.

It was a bit easier in my case to change HV's, as my doctor didn't seem to think much of her either!! She was actually taken out of the practice. Only to be moved some where else though as I still see her around. But maybe she is just what someone else wants (can't imagine it though!!)

Keep in touch and let me know how things go. I you prefer CAT me.
