It's that time of year again.Christmas is coming and my neighbours start doing their online christmas shopping and are never home to collect it so we end up taking it in!!!And it drives me mad! Last year they had even put our address on some of the stuff! and although the delivery people put a card through their door to say where it is they never come and pick it up- they wait for us to take it round! This so petty i know but it drives me insane!!!!!!!!!!!!
We're not even especially friendly with them- just to say hello to.And the delivery guys always turn up when i'm to my ears in dirty nappy or something!!!
anyone else got any thing petty to vent?

About the bonkerz "friend" (actually DH's friend's wife)... I just told her that I was not good at reading other people minds, and said that if she still needed acommodation she was welcome in my house... have been regretting this last sentence since, because I don't want her to be here, I'm not sure I will be able to stand several days under the scrutiny of her paranoias.
Though considering how sensitive she is, the only mention of not being able to read people minds will get her so offended that I don't expect to hear from her ever again.

If people don't put the divider down for you, do you find yourself putting an item of your shopping extremely close to theirs just to freak them out?

misdee · 28/11/2005 00:09

yes, usually the most expensive, or a bottle thats likely to tip onto their delicate items.

i hate it when the cashier rings up the total and doesn't say anything- just waits for me read it off the till. i get all british and straight backed and make a point of saying thank you very much in a loudish voice, and then i walk away and think ' i'm turning into my mother'!

Lockets, I think that you can report the car to the police as abandoned (just kidding)

handlemecarefully · 28/11/2005 00:16

It's a bloody minefield this supermarket shopping malarky innit?

Chandra · 28/11/2005 00:17

I was in tesco testerday and had to park near the back with dd2, it didn't bother me as she can walk and holds my hand across the car park, BUT when I walked passed the disabled parking, there was a young mum with 2 kids parked in the disabled spaces, without a badge that got on my goat, and I went in and reported her...

am in a foul, really foul, unreasonable mood and could reel off 1000s of things tonight.
I hate it in supermarket queues when you are paying and the next person stands reeeeeally close to you. generally all invasions of personal space i hate.
did someone wrong today though. was on a train andhad to stand in the bit between the compartments because pram wouldn't fit through compartment doors (bl**ody deutschebahn trains). had pram in front of one door and was standing holding it in front of the other. someone came as train was approaching a station, stood behind the pram quite close and asked if i was getting off. assumed it was a get-out-of-the-way routine and said 'no, but i'll get out of your way as son as the train stops'. he said 'i just wanted to help you with the pram' .

sparklymieow · 28/11/2005 00:21

I think she had proberably left by the time they got out, but there was lots of cars parked in the disabled without badges so they would have got ticketed...

People who say "to be honest" when they're telling you something (eg "I do drink coffee, but I prefer tea, to be honest"). Are they not being honest the rest of the time? Do they think you'll think they're lying without this phrase? Are they mad?
