Oh-All-Knowing-Mumsnetters.. know how to fix a zip?

Random i know...

The zip on my travel cot case has stopped working (humph). The zipper just zips along without zipping anything up iyswim...

is it possible to fix it? how? has anyone done it b4?

oh please.. its doing my nut in.

my mum is a dresser maker and she advsd me once a zip is broke, its broke.. take it to an "alteration shop" and they will put a new one in for you!

ds put it up and down so i didn't notice whether it was broken beofre we had it or not...

ja9 on a tracel cot case its highly unlikely an alterations place will have a zip long enough, you might have to source the zip yourself and then ask them to put it in for you.

you can get a long zip from Abakhans as mum got one from there when she fixed my DPs waterproof long work jacket

if not then ask them where you can buy a long zip.. my mum goes to another shop but cannot remember the name of the warehouse... hang on

go to any clothing warehouses (where you buy materials to make clothes) and one be around!

tassis, no you didnt break it! it was bust before we gave it to you. if you had've bust it, i wouldnt have dared post about it!!

Dunno if this is too late (or too silly a piece of advice) but, rub candle wax along the zip it will start zipping up again, just rub a candle along both the zip teeths (or whatever you call em).
Should do the trick......yes, yes I know I am just plain wierd
