whst do people buy as christening presents these days, has it moved on from silver money boxes and the like?

My DS got the normal stuff but someone also got him a star which is named after him which I thought was different!!

i would say don't buy a silver money box or a ceramic one for that, dd1 got 8 moneyboxes in total

something with their name on is nice, the best pressy DD1 got was some SS cutlery with her name on she loves these.

I think so..... He got quite a bit of silver stuff... But when my friend had her dd christened she gave out a list (like a wedding list) which I thought was not a bad idea and I have heard of people asking for vouchers so they can get stuff when they need it.
