Guitar for 6 year old

Dd can start having guitar lessons as an after school activity after Christmas and my parents have offered to buy her one for her pressie. Now I don't want them to spend too much in case she doesn't stick with it. I've seen a 3/4 size one in Argos for £17.99 which sounds very reasonable but is it any good? Anyone got one from there or anywhere else they could recommend. (No joy asking at school as its an outside music teacher and they don't start til after Christmas)
Any help gratefully received

We have an Argos one from a few years back, and I'm afraid that although it's fine for mucking around, it would be useless for proper lessons. It's impossible to tune the strings properly, not enough tension or something. It may not be the same model, but my ds's was about the same price as the one you mention, so probably similar. Maybe you could look out for a second-hand one in a music shop?
Sorry!

IKEA do one for about £22 - no idea if it is any good for 'proper' playing though.

Oh saw another one in the Toymaster catalogue yesterday - £24 and says it is suitable for learners
