Out internet & email provider allows you to pick up & send email from their website

I cannot change the password - no option

Is it possible to send emails from the website and it would look as if they came from me at home???

I ask cos H has buggered off with mistress, they work together & my brother rang her last night to rant and she said Ive been sending lots of abusive emails.
I havent
I sent 1 and it was not abusive (see thread in relationships)

she may have said this to justify their behaviour towards me BUT I am now concerned that H has been sending emails from "ME" to make me look bad....

I cant ring the internet provider cos he is the account holdre & they wont speak to me

it is possible for him to send them "from you" if you have a joint email (eg i have a different account to my dp) but i would just ignore them and their petty games of look what she done....... i know its easier said then done but you are a bigger person than the both of them xx

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 22/11/2005 20:40

Can you not change your internet provider?

Don't worry about their little games, like all bad things, they'll go away if you ignore them. Personally I would try again with the provider, speak to the Manager and explain the whole situation, at the very least they'll be able to tell you if this is possible.

MrsMiggins · 22/11/2005 20:41

we just have one email account and I dont bother having a separate "name"
so all my friends are used to emails coming from HUSBANDSNAME@internetprovider

I usually sign "MrsMiggins" at end

only saving grace is that H cannot spell for toffee and is not exactly eloquent, whereas I am one of these annoying people who like punctuation even in emails.
So not sure he would be able to mimic me....and I guess if he HAS been doing this, I could get some expert to test my computer to prove they did not come from here.

I am turning into a paranoid "they're out to get me "

Sooo, if he were doing this, then she would be getting emails with his name on it? As if they were from him? Why can't you have your own email account? I honestly would phone them, speak to the Manager and explain. Don't get paranoid, she probably only said that to your brother to have a go because she was on the defensive, I doubt your ex will have even thought of using the internet in this way!

MrsMiggins · 22/11/2005 20:50

what I meant (and clearly I am paranoid) is that he is sending emails to her at work threatening etc and she fully knows they are from me

a devious plan to make me look like a mad cow....having said that, I do look like that

just ignore me - been a tough 2 weeks

am on phone now to provider to ask them questions

Yes, unfortunately it sounds possible - the email won't differentiate between those sent on your pc and those done remote. We've done similar when travelling. If you go into your account on the website you may have a folder of recently sent emails which you can access but if he has really gone to all that trouble, chances are he'll have deleted them. There may be a recently deleted email folder too though, but these clear after a preset period of time.

Of course she may just be lying !

MrsMiggins · 22/11/2005 21:07

she wouldnt be trying to get Brother on side - his opinion isnt worth printing from a few mins on the phone

I cant get through to internet provider

I will just have to hope he hasnt done this

i know this may sound a little obvious but have you checked the sent email function that way you can see when or if these emails were sent
