...in the winter - do you leave it to come on and go off as if you were at home,and do you leave the hot water on too ? what's the best thing to do ?

We normally would leave it to come on as usual and the water. Perhaps turn the thermostats down a bit.

We leave the timing on and turn the thermostat down to about 15 (not too uncivilised since ours is clicking at 15 at 7am atm )

We leave everythign as it is so it still comes on as normal

would that be on from say 6am - 10am,then again at 5-10pm for example, or on once from 6am until 10pm...sorry to go on about this,but am interested in what other people do...

The am and pm slots, not all day, unless it was very cold and it was only overnight.
