teabags

Make a cup of tea, no milk or sugar and leave the bag in to brew. When it's cool enough to stick your fingers in dip cottonwool balls in, squeeze out just enough so that they are still wet but don't drip, and lay them on your eye. You'll need to lie down with a towel under your head and probably a facecloth over the ear on the sore side, to catch any drips. If the tea is still warm, test the cottonwoll on your cheek to make sure it's not too hot for your eyelid.

When each ball has cooled, put it in a bowl and use a fresh one. Don't reuse the balls. YOu can do that for ordinary sore or tired eyes, but not if you suspect an infection as that might spread teh infection to the other eye.

Do it as often as you can for as long as you can. It's very good indeed for taking down inflamation in the eyes. I have had mosquito bites on my eyelids and forehead that caused my eyes to swell so grotesquely that I couldn't see out at all, and this treatment sorted me out.

Of course, if it doesn't improve within 24h or so, or if it gets worse, then you must see your dr in case you need antibiotics.

HTH

ill go see if it got a head on it first (white/green head)

Is it actually coming through? If so, then I would be very cautious about messing with it, because I wouldn't want to get the pus into the eye itself. Only do the teabag if you cando it withou touching the head of the bubbo.

How's the eye?

LadyTophamHatt · 24/11/2005 16:08

I had boil a while ago and it didn't have ahead on it. Just red and inflammed.
I stuck a pin in it (under strict instruction from MNers) and it erupted.

I have to say it was amazing!
