they are going on holiday tomorrow for 4 weeks and asked us to go to the local pub for Sunday Lunch at 12 noon. Dh told thm that we can't make 12 noon as we would be at church but if they waited till about 12.30 we would be there then.

We got to the pub at 12.30 and they were already eating their meal. they had a neighbour with them so we couldn't sit on the same table.

We ordered but they left just as ours arrived as they had finished. Didn't even kiss dd goodbye!

that's bleeding rude of them. Were they forced to eat then by the neighbour's schedule? Even if they were, they could have hung around with another drink to chat to you.

12noon is an obscenely early time to eat Sunday lunch too IMHO.

coppertop · 20/11/2005 17:49

Why on earth couldn't they wait an extra 30 minutes????

helsi · 20/11/2005 17:49

ah well they actually wait for the pub to open every week to get the "best table". In fact, mil who is bad on her legs manages to literally run to the table.

Are they usually like that?

LIZS · 20/11/2005 17:53

Very rude and inconsiderate. Not much point in suggesting it if they were going to do that.

helsi · 20/11/2005 17:54

In hins sight I think we should have said "oh you've strated with out us...maybe next time then" and left!!
