Help

The past four nights my 9 month old ds has woken at midnight and about 4am and had a 6oz feed both times, not usual for him. He has a big tea and then 6oz at 7pm.
Last night he woke at midnight, had 9oz, 4.30am had 6oz, 6.30am 6oz, had 2 weetabix at 8am and has just wailed the house down at 9.30am for another feed.
Is this just a growth spurt or am I doing something wrong. Is there anyway I can stop just one of these night feeds?

Thanks!

or maybe teething?

gossifer · 17/11/2005 10:45

is that a possibility? i guess because he's been feeding every time it didn't occur to me

but sounds like a growth spurt and its a bugger!,, just make sure give him plenty of solids - eg yoghurts, apples, bananas, toast throughtout the day as my baba used to have 4 different solids every day thru the day. Your DS is not getting filled up during the day properly as hes only having weetabix and a big tea before bed with the milks between them - HTH!

has he got his hands in his mouth permantly or dribbling or red cheeks?

gossifer · 17/11/2005 11:10

superblastoffbiglips (what a great name!)

he has lunch as well! ( and a bottle at 11am and 3pm)

will try to stuff his face some more though, maybe some snacks with his milk feeds in the day

he isn't dribbling and there doesn't seem any redness in the mouth, but he has his hands in his mouth ( or something else!) all the time!

hello gossifer! Linus is doing this as well!
Well... not the midnight one but the early morning and then wanting more just after breakfast etc etc

Sometimes if i get to him quick enough in the night he will settle down again but I have to be there before he starts crying properly because then he wakes himself up!!!

I also try and distract him with stuff after breakfast so he waits a bit longer for the next bottle

He has been dribbling/stuffing hands etc in his mouth for the last 4 months and still no sign of teeth thouh!
