Miserable Old Biddies!!!!!

I was in the Food Hall at M&S in Bluewater today, and there was a couple of old biddies dithering about in front of me, trying to decide which till to go to. I was patiently waiting for them to decide and dd2 (18mths) was in her pram kicking her legs about as babies tend to do, when this miserable cow turns round and frowns at her, snapping 'That's not a very nice thing to do'. She thought dd was trying to kick her or something. She upset dd, who burst into tears, and I was fuming. I shouted, 'For Gods sake she's a baby, she wasn't doing it deliberately'. She just tutted and turned her back muttering something or other. Felt like kicking her out of the way myself!!

Drives you mad doesn't it? Some days everyone seems grumpy, other days they're all lovely. Forget about it. She's the miserable one not you.

One day I was struggling with the pram and a basket and this old guy walked backwards into me, banging himself on my basket.I instantly apologised although it wasn't my fault. The filthy look he gave me then he went off muttering about young mums (that was the best bit, I was 36 at the time!)

I got told off in supermarket by two old biddies as well - my toddler twins were (nicely) singing nursery rhymes, and the ladies didn't like the noise. They suggested that I should keep my children under control! (And why is it that you never think of the appropriate put-down remark until the next day?)

you want to see some of the little Spanish old ladies they are truly vicious. I've seen them hit people with a handbag to get more space on the bus. Dont try standing infront of one at the market, your ribs, heels and calves [sp] cant take it. They also love to heckle bus drivers! My dh calls them pepperpots, I think he might have pinched it from Monty Python.

What an 'orrible old crone. I've come across a few old biddies who are poisonous like this, but I have to say - in the interests of balance - that most old ladies seem to smile indulgently at my two pre-schoolers (with a nostalgic look on their face)
