Those are the grossest placentae (note plural spelling) that I have ever seen.

Tamba · 16/11/2005 18:46

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

LadyTophamHatt · 16/11/2005 18:46

Actually hub2dee, veggies could/would eat placenta because no living animal has died to "produce" it.

Lonelymum · 16/11/2005 18:57

OMG, I usually don't find these "don't read/look if you are eating lunch" type threads too bad, but that has literally turned my stomach! YEUCK!

QueenEagle · 16/11/2005 18:59

Oh that is seriously gross.

Good point though LadyT!

hub2dee · 16/11/2005 19:21

I agree, mears. The pictures I'd seen hitherto were rather pretty.

Easily the world's most incredible organ (IMHO).

We were hoping to recover dw's and bury it in the garden and plant a Camelia bush for Camille, and the consultant seemed fine to sort out the container and make this happen at her c-section... sadly, the placenta was calcified so needed to go off to the histology lab and then to placenta heaven in the big furnace.
