I can remember the feel and plasticy smell of my baby beaker.

mugface · 15/11/2005 11:42

oooh yeah, me too feistybird. Would never have thought about that if you hadn't said.

I remember being about 2 and my mum used to get me to lie down on the couch after lunch, crown court was always on the tele!

I remember looking at my brother when he got back from hospital, lying in his moses basket. I would have been 2 and a half, is that possible to have a memory so early? Have I made it up?!

Rhubarb · 15/11/2005 11:47

I don't know what is my earliest memory as I don't know how old I was. I have no baby or toddler memories that I can think of. I remember a creché scene, the children wouldn't let me play with them in the wendy house so I tried to play with a boy and girl who were messing about with the dolls house, as soon as the boy saw me he pushed the house over and walked away.

starlover · 15/11/2005 11:49

I can remember being outside and finding a wand from a pot of bubbles in the footwell of the car and my brother took it away from me

it was a pinky reddish car. my mum said we got rid of the car just after i was 1!!!

Having not spoken of ehr for years and years my grnamother dies when i told her at aged about 19 (myself) that i rememebr she alwasy had RHwhites lemonade (which sure enough she did... (my grandmotehr had some and i rememebered so did my great grandmother0

i remember my first day at play school (aged 2 and 3/4 and i vividly rememebr pretty much everything about play school, and obviously the same for primary school.

i remember my sister being born at 3.

I have really clear memories of pretty much most of my life from 2 1/2 with little snippests of life from about 19 months!

LilacBump · 15/11/2005 12:06

sitting in the baby bath on the kitchen table and smiling at myself in the reflection of the oven (which was on eye level) and laughing because my hair looked funny with shampoo in it. my mum says she stopped washing me on the table when i was about 9 months.

northerner · 15/11/2005 12:09

I remember sitting on some sheets in My Mums room whilst she changed the bed. She was pulling around the room on them and they ripped. Mum reckons I was about 18 months - 2.

I also have very vivid memories of nursery when I was 3. I clearly remember making crackers at christmas time, the painting corner and story time. Also a big barrel we could climb in and be pushed around in the playground.

munz · 15/11/2005 12:12

the mother and toddler group mum ran - v v vaguely was about 2.5/3 I think but then nothing till about 4 with nursery, and try to push my nan out of the door so we could go - only to be told off by mum for being so rude. (it's all really a blur until about 5/6) (and i'm only 24!)

monstersmummy · 15/11/2005 16:36

charliecat · 15/11/2005 16:41

My first memory is not very good.
It was of my dad dragging me out of the back door to the car with me screaming like a banshee and then sitting in the car with my kness ripped to shreds wondering what the hell was going on.
Was about 4.5.

tortoiseshell · 15/11/2005 16:46

My mum having a miscarriage when I was about 18 months. First time I stayed away from home on my own (we were at Grandad's house, 100 miles from home). Next memory is my brother being born when I was 3yrs4mths. Then have lots of memories - playgroup, starting school, going on holiday with Granma when 3 and a half (respect to her - she took me and my cousin (4) on holiday - including going on a plane, stayed in a hotel, she was in her 70s! V impressed!).

nik72 · 15/11/2005 16:46

Gosh, some really early memories!!

My earliest is my sister being born when I was 2.5 (only because I was bought a present "from the new baby"). My memory only really becomes linear from age 8 or so, just snippets before that.

Rarrie · 15/11/2005 17:28

Being told that I would not be allowed to suck my dummy at big school. I was three and at play group at the time.

merryberry · 15/11/2005 18:17

Queuing for then playing in a dalek outside a games arcade in Clacton on Sea. Especially waggling the thing that made it's outside arm point at my parents then pressing the 'Exterminate' button.

Donbean · 15/11/2005 18:27

The taste of baby food from a jar, it was orange and she was holding the jar and spooning food to me from it.
Must have been very small tot/baby.

Crying in a cot. I remember the room exsactly and the cot was white with a picture of a lamb painted/transfer on the inside head bourd. Will have been less than 2 because we moved from that house when i was under 2.

Sitting on her knee having my shoes done up, buckles. It was nice because she never gave us physical contact so this was as close to a hug i ever got.

Donbean · 15/11/2005 18:27

I am 35 BTW so waaaaayyyy back there!

ruthiemum · 15/11/2005 18:37

I remember my mum changing my nappy and sticking the "safety" pin in my belly by accident, must of been about 2.5.

Zephyrcat · 15/11/2005 18:40

Donbean I had that cot too!! lol

I remember my playpen as well and my first birthday - I remember the cake having white buttons which made me sick

Beabea · 15/11/2005 18:51

I remember laying on a small campbed in my great nanny kates dining room and wondering where my sister was. She was in a pram just the other side of the table to me. We were both meat to be asleep. It wasnt completely dark and I have a feel for the layout of the room. My sister could only have been 6months or so and we are 14months apart.

I have lots of other memories but also lots of gaps.
