technical help needed with broadband

I'm having probs with bt broadband. My bband won't work unless the phone ios being used. I'm having to dial a free number such as 1471 to stay online! BT don't seem to have a clue, any suggestions?

Is there a forum on BTbroadband website where you could ask this question?
I haven't a clue, - erm, perhaps your computer is set for dial-up rather than ADSL connection??

no forum on bt, I've just tried googling for forums, btu can't really find anything relevant. My problem is jsut so wierd. I don't think there is anything wrong with the pc settings as bband isn't working on none of three pcs. It must be either the line or the modem but I'm not sure what.
