Ok so here's my problem...
Have created a fab invitation using a design from Works Word Processor wizard. Saved it as a .wps type thing. Sent it to a friend to look at - she can't open it.

Is it me or can i blame her computer?!!

What should i have done?

Cheers techies - love you all!

She may not have the rigt program to run your invitation on, it may be that she doesn't have MS Works or that yours is newer than her version if she does have it. I have this problem with my pc a lot as it has quite a few imported fonts etc on it and so if I email them to friends without these 'extras' the attachment either doesn't open or does but looks sh*t ! I trust you've checked the that the format of the inviation looks formal in the email you sent out (by opening it in your 'sent items' box)? If it looks normal in there then chances are it is a prob with your friends software.

She mustn't have the same software as you, or you haven't attached it properly. What message does she get when she tries to open it??

You could try saving it as a bitmap image or a Jpeg and send it that way? Or just copy and paste it into a normal Word document.

Sorry, that should read 'looks NORMAL, not formal !'

Thanks everyone...
I tried to copy and paste it but it wouldn't - only the text copied!! It was still coming up with all the Wizard bits around it!

I really am pretty hopeless at this (and I thought iwas quite good!!)

If you go into the sent items part of your email and open up the attachment, does it appear as normal (ie as you created it) ?

Will go and try and report back later ( have important Coffee morning date first!!)

Finbar, can you convert it into a PDF document? Most people can read these, and if not they can download acrobat reader free.

If you go to www.adobe.com you can sign up for 5 free conversions. HTH.
