... and had the emissions warning light flashing on and off. Engine is also sounding rough too. Manual says it should go off if you reduce speed but ours will only do so if we stop, say at lights, then comes back on as soon as we move again. Can get to a dealer tomorrow but have to do the school run (which is on the way) first.
Anyone else had this problem and is it expensive to fix ? We've only had this car 2 months and have a warranty.

Sorry I dont know which one it was but he seemed to think that all Renaults were troublesome. You have a warranty so shouldnt cost you anything i hope

Just spent 2 1/2 hours at dealership. It was the ignition coils - some were under warranty as faulty others not but they replaced them all free of charge anyway. Having googled it seems others have had the same issue.

Lizs, we had this with both our 2001 Scenic and 2002 Megane. Even the ones that were replaced eventually went again! It is apparently a widespread prob with Renaults and when we owned ours they wouldn't acknowledge it - very frustrating . It is good that you got them replaced free though as our dealer took a huge amount of persuading to replace ours.
