Bebe in answer to your question (which is now a page or two back!) I have been:
a) away for the weekend
b) attempting to plough my way through all the A-level stuff I need to learn in order to teach it halfway decently (feel like I'm back at uni except without the parties and cheap Malibu), and
c) trying to sort through my very confused head. Will expand on this when I have sorted it through a bit more!

oh and
d) feeling angry/guilty/self righteous/like a rebel/scared in turn as I am striking for the first time in my life on Thursday!!

Got a strong line on the Persona this morning. Will this hateful cycle never end. My chart is just mad spikes all over the place.

Oh God!! What a pain with your chart. I hope that things settle down soon and give you a bit of a clearer picture. Do you think all the stress with your DH constantly changing his mind might be having an impact and delaying ov??
Do you get any ov pains usually? I get them and they help me work out when I'm oving.

I can't help but worry my fertility's not what it was. I'm 34 soon. I was 31 when I started wanting to try.

And to be brutally honest I'm completely exhausted with all the highs and lows of trying to persuade/coerce/guilt/trick DH. Not to mention all the charting, pill popping, grapefruit juice drinking, cervix checking, etc that I do to try to maximise any tiny chance I do get. And then the constant disappointment.

Really I need a break but how can I take a break? When I asked DH if I should pack it all in and get a coil fitted he said no, keep doing it all, maybe we'll try next month. Sometimes he says "perhaps" instead of "maybe". I've asked him to just say no if he means no but he just says "maybe".

The age thing is tricky isn't it? I think that there is so much out there in the media to scare us all into starting families early but I wonder how much is true and how much is media hype.

Hmmm AC "maybe" and "perhaps" sounds very very familiar. My DH did that to me too "Ok, we'll start TTC maybe." I got fed up and said I needed a yes or no answer and wouldn't accept any maybes. He said yes...

I don't think my DH was enjoying the power, I think it was more that he is a very cautious sort of person and couldn't proactively decide to TTC (especially as, as we've previously discussed, it's kind of a mad thing to do) - he kind of had to have the decision made for him. Don't know if your DH is like that? If you said "no maybes - yes or no" how would he react?

No I think you're right, he's just confused.

I agree that you need a definite answer. "MrAC are we going to TTC, yes or no"

To be honest, in some of my more confused/conflicted moments, I think if the situation was reversed and an (improbably) broody and gung-ho MrQuod came at me with an are-we-or-aren't-we ultimatum, I'd probably refuse to budge from 'maybe'. It's nice and comforting place, Maybeland, isn't it?! Unfortunately it is also a place where the govt are very concerned about the massive population decline as the birth rate is unsustainably low. I hear it also suffers from a horrendously high accident rate.

Friends of ours gave birth last night, emailed pics this morning, so I think MrQuod is actually in a broody mood for a change!

I wonder if Maybeland's high accident rate has anything to do with infuriated spouses setting Gruffalos loose on their DHs/DWs after one too many "maybe"s...

Lucky my DH responded to the "yes or no" demand and wasn't as stubborn as you would be!

Yes or No demand didn't work on my DH...It went from 'maybe' to 'yes...but not yet'! Although shouldn't be surprised as he has gone 'yes', 'probably' 'maybe soon' 'yes' 'no' 'no never' 'maybe' 'yes...not yet'!

AC you have my upmost sympathy, it is infuritating & heartbreaking & completely messes with your head. I think MrAC is just very confused and 'scared'!!! It's a big decision, and if you haven't known for a while (like most men don't) that you want kids it is terrifying...it means they can't act like the kid anymore & confirms their status as 'grown up'. Plus I reckon that about 75% of men are pretty selfish & it's very difficult to be selfish when you have to put a tiny human's needs before your own!

Not sure that all makes sense...have a head full of pollen! Hope you know what I'm trying to say?!!?
