Has anyone claimed back their money through Paypal?

I paid for 3 items on Ebay on 23rd October. I was a bit unsure of buying from the seller as he takes a long time to deliver but I really wanted the costumes he was selling.
Anyway, he said the items should be here by 8th November, they didn't arrive and today I noticed he is no longer a registered user.

I have just got his contact details but I don't really want to phone him! I've sent him a few emails that he has ignored and I have also now filed a claim with paypal. Do you reckon I will get the money back?

I waited 3 weeks for a book. No rep,y to my emails so I started proceedings with paypal. They found in my favour as the person never responded to them but not enough funds in the sellers account so they say they are 'working to get funds recovered' whatever that means. The seller had goof feedback then when i won an auction suddenly bad feedback and long delays in receiving stuff. Luckily i have only lost a small amount but its the principle andi am peed off. When something did not get delivered from amazon marlet place i was refunded within days by amazon - excellent imo.

I would start recoveriong thrugh paypal but as he is no longer a reg. user he may not have a paypal account they can access?

I thought I would try and get the money back anyway. Its £36 that I paid him. He was still registered yesterday. Do you know if a user gets suspended for a certain amount of Neg feedback or something?

somem poeple have loads of neg feedbacka and are still trading.

Email i got from paypal saif they may look into putting restrictions on the sellers account. I thought paypal were underwritten and you would get your money back anyway but that does not seem to be the case as i am finding out.

Did you pay by credit card as you may be able to claim back from them? I used debit card so dont think i can.

I paid through my paypal account which is linked directly to my back (I think)
I've checked and double checked and I think I am entitled up to a refund of £500, I have to wait 10 days to give the seller a chance to reply.

The seller has since contacted me and has refunded one of the transactions. He has said that Paypal are waiting for additional information from me but I haven't heard anything from them and also my paypal account doesn't request further info.

He said if I can cancel the complaint / claim, then he is happy to refund the money due. I am concerned that if I cancel the claim and he decides not to refund my money, then I can't put in another claim.

Should I just wait for paypal to sort out the claim for me?

i would tell him that once your money is back in your hand 'then' you will cancel the complaint as its still a problem until its resolved isnt it..which means .. give you money back = no problem..what an RS(him not you
