oops!

biglips · 13/11/2005 11:07

I would put it in the washing machine, regardless of whether it says surface wash only

aloha · 13/11/2005 11:24

Washing machine with nappisan. Pronto!

NannyL · 13/11/2005 14:19

My rules is ANYTHING made of material goes in washing machine...

ANYTHING made of plastic / glass / china etc goes in dishwasher...

this rule applies to ALL TOYS as well (most of which fit one of the above criteria)..... stick him in the wash im sure he'l be fine!

mojomummy · 13/11/2005 14:22

put it in a net bag & wash at 60 degrees.

MrsSpoon · 13/11/2005 14:22

Loads of my DSs soft toys have been through the wash, only one has fallen to bits because of it and it was the only toy I have ever washed that said it was machine washable. All the others that say surface wash only have been fine in the machine.

zippitippitoes · 13/11/2005 14:27

tumble dry rather than line dry and it should survive

SenoraPostrophe · 13/11/2005 14:28

yes to the washing machine, but wash at 40 and don't use disinfectant - you don't need to as the germs die as soon as they dry out anyway.

Nemo1977 · 13/11/2005 14:33

ive washed a load of ds soft toys and also his old rattles etc for the baby which all say surface wash and are all fine.

mojomummy · 13/11/2005 16:00

have you tried washing dirty knickers in a 40 degree wash ? I have & they just don't get clean.

SenoraPostrophe · 13/11/2005 16:04

they do if you rinse them off first, mm.

mojomummy · 13/11/2005 19:07

do you mean rinse in the washing machine ? DD has come home from nursery a few times with a poo in her pants which has ground into the trim round the side. As they were cute M&S pants I had to shock them in napisan for a few days. Washing them at 40 didn't cut it. Fed up with soaking, so now bought tescos 5 for £2 knickers & will chuck them if they come home 'ground in'

I guess wiped-on & ground-in respond differently

PS 60 degrees is recommended for bedlinen in order to kill dustmites, so anything that goes in DD's bed is boiled

biglips · 13/11/2005 19:09

well ive done it as i put it on pre-wash (cold wash) and it had washed out nicely

I have never had a pair of pants with ground in poo that did not finally come clean with hand washing (scrubbing). Then I bung them in the machine at 60 degrees for good measure. But I understand that some people would rather not do that.
