Am awake and tbh p'd off. Am I a stick in the mud? Basically dp's birthday next weekend and while my ds is staying with his dad for the weekend having a bit of a birthday bash for him. Basically his friends over all weekend so they can talk/drink and (sad I know) play board games (it is quite fun). Thing is that we have an open house policy and one person who is staying over (no one else onghit) announced he isnt going to sleep till sundany afternnon. He has taken some naughty stuff too and actually said if he had more money he would have bought some for us! I have a young son who is away the weekend but regardless i dont touch substances (well not since fell pregnannt - and only then rarely). I am feeling a little riled by it. Have bundled duvet and pillow downstairs to encourage him to rest but i am just feeling that it is a bit unreasonable.
Sorry for rant. DP about to go to bed.

im up

it may be too late to do anything about it now but you need to talk to dp about how you feel and present a united front before he is invited over again, or, if you can get dp to agree by the am, talk to guest in the am about it. you may have to make compromises in the short term to what you may want to do about this guest as you have partaken in the past and dp will feel divided loyalties. but try to get the thin edge in sooner as you will soon have 2 lo's around who should not be exposed to that sort of thing if only the discord of its after effects by somone who isn't even a part of your relationship.

harpsichordcarrier · 12/11/2005 03:51

you still awake?

tegan · 12/11/2005 03:53

I think they may of left me here alone

harpsichordcarrier · 12/11/2005 03:54

why are you not sleeping?

tegan · 12/11/2005 04:08

dd2 (18 months) has started to wake at 3 and whilst I am rying to keep her in her own bed and get her back off all she does is scream. 2 nights ago she was up for 3 hours and that was after we had given in and put her in our bed.
dh and dd1 are fast asleep in my bed (dd1 had a nightmare) so I am sticking to keeping dd2 in her bed until she goes back off.

JessicaandRebeccasmummy · 12/11/2005 07:49
