my dd has been asked to babysit on a regular basis twice a month, for an acquaintance of mine. She expects me to drop her off and pick her up again!

I thought this was abit of a cheek. We always drove babysitters home or paid for a taxi.

This is a 5 min drive but i begrudge having to stay of the wine just to pick her up.

I've told her to refuse the job unless they can drop her home.

what's your view?

They're taking the mick. Of course they should arrange for her to get home.I've always driven our babysitters home but if for some reason I really had to drink,we'd organise a taxi.
God just realised I haven't even considered asking DH to stay off the booze to do the honours And we think we're so liberated!!

have always offered babysitters a minicab home or the cash equivalent.

the parents of one babysitter we had were happy to pick her up but we never asked for this and any time they couldn't we'd take her home/put her in a cab... think it's fair enough not to take the jobs unless they can get her home....tbh if they are drinking they will be in cab and it can just go on to her house?
