Help! What can we buy her?

My SIL is approaching her 40th birthday and I have no idea what to buy her. DH will just ask her what she would like which we normally do but for the big 4 0 I would like to surprise her. She is a young and trendy woman about London town, has a gorgeous flat with lots of kitsch stuff, wears mixed designer and charity shop clothes, and works in the media. She has a partner and no children. Given that background on her, can anyone help with any ideas on a present?
All help gratefully received! Thanks.

No idea's on what to get her, but at the moment I want to be her!! If she fancies a life swop with a overweight, harrassed, financially embarrassed Mum of 3, let me know!!

Does she enjoy the theatre? How about tickets for a show?

Not sure how much you are looking to spend but Boots do a range of "Gift Experiences", maybe there is something there that she would like:-

Have you decided on anything posey?

motherinferior · 01/10/2003 09:55

Posey, one of the nicest 40th presents I got was a voucher for the Sanctuary. Haven't actually taken it up yet, as had baby 19 days after the birthday and am busy b/fing, but it was lovely and I'm soooooooo looking forward to it.

Forestfly- haven't definitely decided but think we may most likely do a treat of somesort (the Sanctuary voucher sounds wonderful) and then buy something smallish maybe jewellry to keep. Am really looking forward to it as there's going to be a big party and its only a week before my birthday AND it will be my first big night out since ds was born. Sad I know but what with bf, and hubby working evenings... Oh where did my social life go? I know, it takes place in daylight hours with the kids in tow
