Hi all the cinema in Greenwich does showings for mums/dads & babies on a Wednesday. There r currently a some films out I really want to see but can't really leave DD with anybody. I am really concerned about the noise though. I find cinema showings very loud & don't want to risk damaging my DDs hearing. Any thoughts anyone?

I took DD3 when she was a few weeks old but it was to a see a children's film. She slept through but I was prepared to take her out if she'd cried. I didn't think about the noise, with 2 other DDs at home we were used to noise lol.

I saw Juno with dd1 when she was about 8 wks old. She fed and slept most of the time. Noise didn't seem to bother her. I was all hormonal and cried at the birth scene Smile

Get something like this?

TBH if you time it right at that age she'll probably sleep right through it

Tbh I wouldn't do it as I find the noise level in cinemas uncomfortable for my grown-up, worn out ears. But I know I'm an exception these days. I can't see why you'd want to inflict an experience like that on a tiny baby. I'm of the school of giving them (and me) as peaceful a life as poss for as long as poss.

The mum and babies showing tend to have the volume lower than normal showings, so it should be fine.

I took dd to a normal showing at 6 weeks and did find it a little loud - she was snuggled up feeding and sleeping throughout - she always had one ear against me so I made sure to cover up the other one!
