How does anyone feel about their child going on a school trip abroad aged 11??????

My 11 year old is off to Italy in July for a week. School has been running the trip for years and it is hugely popular.

I think that as long as there is a good staffing ratio it is a fabulous opportunity.

Abroad where?

My ds will be going to France with school for a week, 1 month after his 12th birthday. And he's allergic to nuts! I'm trying not to think about it too much. But I'm sure he'll be fine. He's really excited. Where is your trip to?

Standard practice round here for year 7s to go to France for a week. My dd went with her school and had a fabulous time.

Hi All, trip is to France in Year 6, but has become distant from his usual friends, so worried he might feel a bit lost. He is my first and only child, i dont want to feel he will miss out but then again think i will find it hard to let go. Cost of trip is £400! 5 days, France, coach and ferry. I think he will be more ready and mature to go when he starts secondry school. Thanks for all replies :)

My DD will be going on a 3 or 4 night residential to France next year - she will be in Y5 and will have just turned 10y.

She's already done two residential trips with school and has another later this month, plus a Brownie one in September - but all in the UK.

It'll be nerve wracking but I will let DD go.
