How do you stop junk faxes?

We recently reluctantly acquired a fax machine at work .
Every day now we get several junk faxes. The machine shares the line with the phone so we keep getting interupted to answer then feel obliged to receive the fax in case it important. (it never is)
Is there a way of stopping junk faxes?
