Cheapest ways to get married

Can people give me their ideas of how/where they got married.Cheapest ways.Romantic ways.
Im doing the following sort of/any advice please....
Hair/make up,nails all free of charge-marriage at registry office with ds(26mths)best friend&partner+dd(38mths)-limo to drop off kids to who's looking after them-champagen in limo-meet 10 friends in local chinese restaurant and announce just got married!!!-Eat as much as you like for £5.90.Drink champagne.Party at the house from 7pm onwards for extra people.

wow that sounds fab. Do your families mind not being there? I guess a cheap way would be to do it just the 2 of you somewhere hot and sunny

Oh thanx I feel like people may be crytical and think its tacky but I ADORE chinese food.Family wont mind.Its what my parents did.My dad doenst agree with spending lots of money on weddings.I would rather spend that sort of money on a great holiday or a new kitchen,well we just dont have the money and probably never will .Things are tight.None to save.

that sounds like a wonderful stress free day that is including all your important family,having a good feed and quality drink-yumyum.(also stress-free for guests if a surprise).

DH and I told our guests we were getting married two weeks before the day so there could be no stress of finding the right dress etc(did that with first wedding).We had 12 close family and friends(and dog) at the registry office then mini bus to local posh restaurant for 3-course set lunch.we ddidn't say we were a wedding party just booked a table for 12. then minibus back(after it had finished the school run).I think it cost £350.00 altogether-I ended up paying the bill for some reason when wedding was all DHs idea.Wore a cream trouser suit from next that I have worn loads of times since.
