you know whereyou enter name under this box?, that it autoprompts your name - well I typed in codsawallop by mistake and it keeps suggesting this.

How do you clear that box? I have just "c" in it too as an option.

highlight it and delete.

so double click to highlight it, then press delete key, then re-type the name you've registered.

Unless I'm misunderstanding you - I have to type wickedwaterwitch the first time I post during a day but once I've done that it's automatically there for future postings unless I've closed this window.

Ok:

  • usually there's an attachment option with your email - there is in hotmail.
  • Click on that from your "compose message" screen and it'll take you to a little box with "browse" written next to it. This is an invitation to find the file on your computer! So make sure you know where it's stored before you try to send it i.e. is it in the c drive, my documents etc?
  • Once you've found it, usually there's an option to "open" (they actually mean "attach" in hotmail IIRC, not open but there you go) so click on that
  • a box on the right shows you when it's attached (takes a couple of seconds). Repeat if you need to send multiple files, then click "done" at the bottom which should return you to your message.
  • Then type the text and press send. If it's not hotmail it won't be exactly the same as above but it still shouldn't vary that much - look for a paperclip icon - it usually means attach a file. HTH!

Also, in microsoft outlook you will find an insert option at the top, you create your message, click on the insert ICON and then it brings up a box for you to search for the file you want to insert. Good Luck!
