We have tried cleaning it with a special dishwasher powder but it's still coming back.
Any other ideas?

I use a liquid cleaner - you up-end the container in the cutlery basket and run it on hot. From Tesco or Sainsbury. Supposed to use it every month - it helps against limescale too.

White wine vinegar gets rid of limescale, wherever it is.

I just got a new one - it's fab!

Have you checked for any food debris in the filter or elsewhere?
I cleaned our washing machine filter earlier this week and believe me it did not smell very nice...

sunchowder · 04/11/2005 22:35

Bleach.....is it leaking out underneath somewhere? Run it empty with some bleach inside and see what happens. Vinegar also works great, but if it really stinks there must be something rotting somewhere. Good Luck!

Having checked out some manufacturer websites for our new washing machine problems last night i noticed lots of bits and pieces/advice posts and topics about smells from dishwashsers and washing machines. Might be worth a look at your manufacturers site.

Hello Sunchowder

sunchowder · 04/11/2005 22:39

Hello there!!

sunchowder · 04/11/2005 22:40

I have some other smelly things, but don't want to mention them here

QueenVictoria · 04/11/2005 22:43

Run some bleach through them, dust off the cobwebs, it'll be fine

sunchowder · 04/11/2005 22:43

That's just what I was thinking.....maybe a spot of vinegar too!

QueenVictoria · 04/11/2005 22:44

Bet there are some helpful websites for that too
