can you help. DP is in a biodiesel coop. they need a name (tonight). this is what they want? i am sure there are some people out there who can think of a good name:

"We Need a good name for a company selling bodiesel to the general public
It must be only 1-2 words, placed before "biodiesel"
Not be overtly 'eco' or ' green', they must be straightforward/clear/direct appealing to the conscientious but practical customer
like "Better Biodiesel" only better."

TIA

fennel

Blooming Biodiesel?

codKEMP · 03/11/2005 20:01

whats is bio deisel?

gingerbear · 03/11/2005 20:02

made from plants

fennel · 03/11/2005 20:02

it's old chip fat or corn oil which can be processed into fuel for your diesel car. Bio-diesel cooperatives are setting up outlets to sell it. DP is very involved.

codKEMP · 03/11/2005 20:03

gingerbear · 03/11/2005 20:04

Thought it was from Rapeseed oil?
Oh, yeah... chip fat. Same as.

SenoraPostrophe · 03/11/2005 20:05

Bio-Plus Biodiesel?

fennel · 03/11/2005 20:05

can be from rapeseed oil. or from all sorts of plant products. farmers have used it for years.

SenoraPostrophe · 03/11/2005 20:06

It can be rapeseed oil gb. old chipfat is more environmentally friendly (in that it is recycling)

gingerbear · 03/11/2005 20:06

It isn't sure fire though, max mix is 5% biodiesel, cos it clogs up engine unless at low blends with normal petro-fuel.

Stop me now. My name is GONGE, and I am a Chemical Engineer.....

SenoraPostrophe · 03/11/2005 20:09

really - I thought you could use biodiesel as is in any diesel engine?

anyway the name not actually being true never stopped "I can't believe it's not butter"

SenoraPostrophe · 03/11/2005 20:09

betty biodiesel! that's great. I can see the logo now.

fennel · 03/11/2005 20:14

gingerbear this biodiesel appears to be useable as it is, at 100% not just at 5%.

thanks for the ideas so far. keep them coming....

I think it has a solvent added to the methyl ester, and the solvent strips the engine innards of build up from petro-diesel, and can clog filters.

Someone nudge Cod again, she has nodded off.

SenoraPostrophe · 03/11/2005 20:38

actually i think any random 2 syllable geographical word would work:

Forest biodiesel
valley biodiesel
oxbow lake biodiesel (maybe not that last one)
