Please have a look through here if you are planning your own party this weekend

The number of people injured seriously enough to warrant hospital treatment last year increased by 22%. 73% of those injured were under 20

Please ensure you & your family & friends stay safe

Have seen some horrible stories/injuries on various tv progs today. Scary that these aren't restricted to proper displays......

We just had some sparklers in the garden. My heart was in my mouth the whole time

Donbean · 05/11/2005 18:25

I ALWAYS avoid working around this time of year if i can due to the possible injuries sustained.
Unfortunately, im at work tomorow so i will see first hand any serious injuries, not looking forward to it at all. So depressing and unnecisary.

Mmmm dh has just called to say that he'll be late home - should have been off shift at 6 but currently putting out an out of control bonfire, which now also involves the homeowner's shed .

Be careful out there!

My boys are having sparklers for the first time this year - they're 6 and 8! Up until now I've always thought ds2 was too young.

I used to love fireworks, now I just can't be bothered (dh has taken them out tonight). Am I getting old?

Blandmum · 05/11/2005 18:51

I don't like them much either Roisin, too cold and wet hanging around.

This was the first year for sparklers for our two, and we didn't do anything else.

This is the first year fireworks haven't freaked out ds, and I didn't want to pay to go to a display and then have him go crazy from the noise etc
