Does anyone know anything about recall in Microsoft Office?

I sent an email to someone yesterday that I, today, tried to recall. The recall failed, but I need to know whether the recipient of the email received notification that I tried to recall the mail. I looked on Help, but it only gives scenarios for if you tried to delete and replace the email, not simply delete.

Anyone know?

I think the recall will work if it is an internal mail but I'm not 100% sure on that

It wasn't an internal email, chjlly. The recall failure message included a standard email response from the company that the message was sent to. Does that make it any clearer?! God, I'm an arse!

No ks, I'm not going to be fired. This is a purely personal f*-up! I have a long term problem with an old friend (a long thread of its own!) which I sort of tried to bring to a head with an email yesterday. I haven't had a reply and thought I could find out if she'd read it by trying to recall it, because that only works if it hasn't been opened. It was only afterwards that I wondered whether she would be notified of the failure to recall, because if she's seen the email and then seen that I tried to recall it, I might have made the whole situation worse.

Sorry, that probably makes little sense, and I should probably start a thread about it. Maybe I will when I know what the result of this stage in the proceedings is!

Any ideas from the evening shift?

Googled a bit and found this which prob doesn't help.

It looks like you'd best start thinking fast.
