My secondary school was called Hustler. It was a good few years after leaving that I found out it was also the name of a porn mag. [They have since changed it].

Any other ridiculous school names?

There is a Sexeys School in Somerset and one called The Hundred of Hoo somewhere.

There used to be a senior school in Canterbury called the Frank Hooker School. I believe the council eventually changed the name, after coming under pressure from parents.

I used to work in the Richard (Dick) School of veterinary Sciences in Edinburgh!

Ned Sherrin went to Sexeys. I think there must be a pack of clueless old codger trustees refusing to bow to the inevitable on that one - it needs changing. How many of their pupils must get duffed up on the mean streets of Bruton...

Deeply juve I know but we have had a visiting teacher called Koch much in evidence. A colleague had to be stretchered out of a planning meeting this week after putting up with earnest discussions of "Well, year 3 have two hours of Koch in the morning and more Koch in the afternoon...is this too much Koch?" No-one else was laughing - she nearly ruptured herself.
