Hi Ladies,
My friends and I are looking into opening a soft play area and are looking into doing some market research! Thought it would be nice to see what "Mums" would like to see in a soft play area. Not just for the children but for Mums too as you spend as much time there as your children. The obvious is cafe, tv, magazines etc but maybe there is some extra touches that you think would be a good idea.
Thank you for reading and we would really appriciate your comments :-)

I am past this stage now, but I remember how difficult it was to get things like manicures done......... and a neck/shoulder massage would have been heavenly. Some children hate having their hair cut - what better way to get them to still still than have a quick trim before they go in and play.
Good luck with your new venture x

Clean toilets! When I used to take DC to soft play the only thing that drove me insane was the stinky loos, little ones do not have a good aim and a bit of cleaning would have worked wonders.

oh and decent tea/coffee and food. Not just ... and chips.

Jax Your a girl after my own heart. Clean loos seems to be one of the most difficult things to get right in these places. Seeing as you are taking little ones to the loo all the time this is REALLY important. A toilet attendant for every 15/30 min check would be a good idea. Also empty the nappy bins more than once a day they stink the whole toilets out.

An outdoor play area for when the sun is shining to keep the customers coming despite the good weather.

The under 5's section should be kept that way, not by other mum's. The staff need to enforce this.

A notice board which you could sell nearly new/second hand kids stuff, babysitting services etc You could charge for this weekly?

Don't charge for adults to get in. This really annoys me. I know it's only a £1 but it's not me jumping around in the bloody ball pit!

Oh and most important...find someone who can make good home made cakes and you've really cracked it Grin
