bribery? Mine are allowed to watch TV once they're fully dressed and breakfasted - they end up with about 5 minutes of Cbeebies, which is a small price to pay...

I was going to start this thread this morning! What I want to know is what exactly happens to that last 10-15 minutes, you know, between the moment when you are all ready except coats and shoes and have plenty of time and the moment when you are screaming about being late and getting in the car NOW!

I did a sticker chart for getting ready for school in the morning without nagging and shouting - worked for a while - must reinstate it!

I also go for the reward of TV once dressed and fed (DH mucks this up by wander through living room and sticking telly on ). Depending on age I would also set out very clearly what has to be done and in which order. Mine thought they had to wait to be shouted at before doing anything . Perhaps setting this out on a chart would help.
Today I came down to DS dressed and fed (made own toast), quite happily playing on the computer. It must be his alarm on his watch.
