Hi I have been asked to set up a group at church and am in the process of collecting kit (toys beakers etc etc). I am not sure however what the legal things i need to do are?

It will meet weekly from 9.30-11 (all volunteers will have enhanced CRB). Do I need to register with local council or anything...anything else i need to do??

Help appreciated!!

It might be worht checking to see if you need public liability insurance. I am sure the CIB wil be able to help. Our mother and toddler group became a registered charity as it gave them more rights. We got given a lottery grant too.

I am doing this too! I contacted Playgroup association who were fab, gave loads of ideas and info on legal stuff. CRB checks a good idea. Good luck! (where are you?)

We found that contacting the local early years department at the council was useful as we were given quite a lot of funding and also put on courses this was in Scotland though!
