Does your dh/dp work weekends?

My dh worked all this weekend and I hate it. I really missed him and just like having him around so we can all spend time together.

Fortunately it doesn't happen very often but I just think to work 7 days flat out is too much for anyone really.

I agree. My dh does lots of weekends and late evenings especially in Autumn and Spring and is often away for a week or two at a time in the summer. I hate it but I'm getting used to it.

i agree, dp detests working weekends as he works 8-5 every other day, he wont work at the weekends as he figures we didnt have ds for him not to be around for him. he does occasionally work but not if he can help it, his weekends are packed full of ds and me time!

bettythebuilder · 30/10/2005 21:37

dh works shifts, so works some weekends.
On the plus side, we might have our "weekend" on a monday or tuesday, so I still get to see him, and I think he gets to spend more time with dd because of his irregular hours.

HRHQoQ · 30/10/2005 21:42

Yes if he needs to make up his hours or sales. He worked all day (10am-9pm) Thursday, same on Friday, then yesterday did 9-6.

Smurfgirl · 30/10/2005 21:48

Yes. Every single weekend.

Most Saturdays and a lot of evenings and if I am really lucky he goes away for a month or 2 .

piffle · 30/10/2005 21:53

dh works away during the week 2 nights, a weekend would be a killer...

Hulababy · 30/10/2005 21:56

We are lucky. Dh doesn't work weekends. He does bring a bit of work home woth him, but normally only a couple of hours worth to do on a Sunday evening.

sheepgomeep · 30/10/2005 22:04

my dp works sat day and sunday evening as well. I work weekends too but he works when i'm not which is a pain.

swedishmum · 30/10/2005 23:59

My dh has worked all this weekend (at home fortunately) and will leave at 4am to catch a plane. I'll see him late Friday night as usual. It's not really a life, is it? I know a lot of people on here have the same thing.

I haven't seen my dh since 26th Sept. He'll be home for two weeks in Nov but then away again until New Year. I'm getting a bit cheesed off with my own company.

munz · 31/10/2005 07:36

erm , normally he's off fri, sat, sun but at the mo his shifts are 3 days 3 nights 3 off, so I see him on days don't see him at all when he's nights then do on days off - this weekend coming is the first one we've seen each other for in the last 3 weeks. only till 1st dec thou

roisin · 31/10/2005 07:46

Dh works Sundays and lots of Saturdays, plus most evenings too. But there are lots of advantages about his job too - he does the school run both ways every day, which he couldn't do in a 'normal job'.

NotActuallyAMum · 31/10/2005 08:14

My DP gets one weekend off in every 4. Nights is the worst! He gets either 1 or 2 days off in the week but that's no good to us cos I work full-time. He has to work bank holidays too, we've only been together 12 months and it really is taking some getting used to! He does get a good break at Christmas tho so looking forward to that

juicychops · 31/10/2005 08:20
