You started it!

buffytheharpsichordcarrier · 29/10/2005 19:10

melissasmummy I would say that salad cream is a sure fire indicator of class.
I mean anyone can eat sausage rolls, have gravy on their chips, mushy pea fritters (yum btw) and just be slumming it.
BUT if you eat salad cream, you ARE working class.
period.
IMHO
(PS I have a cupboard full of the stuff. best on chips.)

teeavee · 29/10/2005 19:17

friend of mine makes salad dressing with salad cream, creme fraiche and dill
so poooosh

Scaryskribble · 29/10/2005 19:19

In Scotland we are neds, I love sausage rolls cause they are so easy for the wains to eat when they are in the buggy in the toun. I prefer the cheese and onion pasties from Greggs mmh.

Frayedknot · 29/10/2005 19:20

The world has gone mad.

How about suasage rolls dunked into salad cream?

GeorgieVickyLou · 29/10/2005 19:21

Greggs cheese and onion.. they are Fab..

Scaryskribble · 29/10/2005 19:24

Had one for lunch today mmh. Kids actually did have sausage rolls too as we were out and about . Greggs is fab 3 course lunch for 3 for under a £10 including drinks. The height of ned class .

puff · 29/10/2005 19:32

I had a dog that could say sausages btw

expatinscotland · 29/10/2005 19:54

No, Spain does that awesome chorizo, tho. Oooooo. YUMMY! I'd give up sausage rolls for that.

GeorgieVickyLou · 29/10/2005 20:02

chorizo, oh yes.. i lived in Majorca when i was twenty (summer job) loved the stuff.. and that bread with garlic.. what was it called (pan something funnily enough)

hunkerpumpkin · 29/10/2005 20:02

How do you make a sausage roll?

Push it down a hill in a buggy.

GeorgieVickyLou · 29/10/2005 20:04

LOL.. very good.

expatinscotland · 29/10/2005 20:06

Spanish olives. Oh yeeeesssss!

Mirage · 29/10/2005 20:10

DD1's idea of a real treat is a Greggs sausage roll. When we go shopping & she spots a Greggs, she always asks for one.No other sort of sausage roll will do though-it has to be Greggs. She doesn't eat it in a buggy as she's 2.

I care more about her happiness than what people think,so will continue to let her have them.

expatinscotland · 29/10/2005 20:11

Gregg's rox! They've got lovely mince pies as well .

SenoraPostrophe · 29/10/2005 20:13

are olives an indicator of class do you think? i hate them.

chorizo is nice but doesn't beat a good english straight-from-the-butcher sausage.

expatinscotland · 29/10/2005 20:14

Mmm. I lurve olives! But also love sausage rolls. Come to think of it, beef olives are nice as well .

Scaryskribble · 29/10/2005 20:15

Why can't a 2 yr old eat a sausage roll in their buggy does it mess up their burberry trackie ?

expatinscotland · 29/10/2005 20:17

Nothing cuter than happy toddler w/flaky pastry all over their twee face - grinning from ear to ear, clutching Gregg's bag in hand.

GeorgieVickyLou · 29/10/2005 20:38

Do you think trick or treaters would like sausage rolls, i have half a bag left in the freeser from a party last month they where horrible (Greggs get my vote every time)

GeorgieVickyLou · 29/10/2005 21:43

Take that as a NO then

peckarollover · 29/10/2005 21:46
