what?? where's this bloody gravy then?? none for MILES around here. I've LOOKED

GeorgieVickyLou · 29/10/2005 16:46

What do you think sausage roll and gravy would taste like (that surley would be chav!)

buffytheharpsichordcarrier · 29/10/2005 16:49

very nice indeed
pastry + gravy = quite the thing
I missed this whole sausage roll discussion (And indeed the chav discussion) but I would say I do like those cheesy rolls you get from Iceland with squishy molten luminous yellow filling bearing no relation AT ALL to cheese.
chavtastic.

munz · 29/10/2005 16:51

DH has his sausage rolls with a tonne of brown sauce on them, and gravey on his chips - urghhhhhhh! blinking northerners!

expatinscotland · 29/10/2005 16:53

No way! You shouldn't ruin them w/gravy! Brown sauce or ketschup all the way.

melissasmummy · 29/10/2005 16:54

munz · 29/10/2005 16:54

buffytheharpsichordcarrier · 29/10/2005 16:56

oh salad cream melissasmummy...
what a give away!

expatinscotland · 29/10/2005 16:56

Nope, use Pillsbury's shortcrust pastry that I buy frozen. It fills all needs - makes a good pie, too. That's what I don't see here much - pies. Like dessert ones - pumpkin, cherry, key lime, Boston cream, apple. Mmmm. With whipped cream or ice cream.

GeorgieVickyLou · 29/10/2005 16:58

Apple pie every time with cream.. yum..

teeavee · 29/10/2005 16:59

I just ask the butcher for sausage meat. The pig farmer we buy from in the farmer's market sells it, too. They sell it like mince. It's delicious!

puff · 29/10/2005 17:58

hey cod, this has livened up a dull indoor Saturday (due to ds1 having a lurgy) - thanks !

SenoraPostrophe · 29/10/2005 18:40

expat - if that's in reply to my whinge about not being able to buy sausage meat, I can't buy it because I live in spain and they don't do english style sausages.
