It makes me feel so sad (and angry)...

My sister was telling me today that she took her children swimming to the local pool this week. Usually, there is communal (family) changing, but it had been split into male and female. My sister asked one of the attendants why this was, and was told that it was due to an incident where a person was caught taking photos of children getting undressed with there mobile phone. How awful that something as innocent as getting changed for swimming has become potentially dangerous?

But will it help separating into male and female?

Probably not. Don't know what you could do short of putting CCTV in changing rooms. But that would leave it open to abuse from potential pervs.

It seems better to me to have old fashioned changing room attendants and ban mobile phones

Er, Bomper, putting cctv in changing rooms would surely result in staff GLUED to the cctv monitor....can't say I'd be willing to get undressed in changing room with cctv!!

In my local gym, a man once fell through the false ceiling into the women's changing room! Having shut himself in one for the 'family ' cubicles he had climbed up into the ducting into the false ceiling, crawled along, and was spying on women. He broke his ankle, and was pursued by a furious gaggle of (very fit and angry) women whacking him with towels, until security rescued him and called the police!
