Is Eating Grapes in Supermarkets Wrong?

After years of discussion this moral dilemma has been solved. The answer was in the bible all along:

?In case you go into the vineyard of your fellowman, you must eat only enough grapes for you to satisfy your soul, but you must not put any into a receptacle of yours." Deuteronomy Ch23v24.

Obviously, in the modern world, the vineyard of your fellow man means the place where we find grapes owned by Tesco and Sainsbury, and we may therefore eat to satisfaction whilst wandering the aisles, but mayeth not stuff 1kg of seedless into oureth handbags.

yes, but I always feed my children something with a bar code, and scan the empty packet through the till. it is because I am too much of a wimp to risk a run in with security over possible shoplifting.

i always buy a pre weighed pacjket of grapes so they can munch all they like, knowing that every grape will be paid for at the end of the shop!

Oh FFS!!!

Not talking about the whole bag, but one or two while walking round is hardly worth worrying over is it??

Ok I know it's wrong!!! BUT life would be so boring if we all did EVERYTHING right

How can armadillos not be treyf? They don't chew cud, do they? And they don't have cloven hooves? I'd say all those were treyf ...

I think it is also mandatory (and possibly sanctioned by God) to leave some on the floor in order to cause amusing slipping accidents for the merriment of onlookers.

ghoulgrrl · 29/10/2005 10:38

it's wrong because they have a thick layer of pesticides on them - I once ate half a bunch of unwashed grapes and was horribly sick afterwards, never again.
I'm too much of a goody-two-shoes to feed the kids stuff that I'm not going to pay for, but I wouldn't give them anything that hasn't been washed or peeled, anyway.

It's not wrong. It's the law.
