Oh hell, dh is being made redundant.

Dh is off sick today and, while I was out, got a phone call from his boss to say 'sorry, we are making six or seven posts redundant including yours'. Oh f*ck.

I hate this tossy employers can chuck you out as soon as they feel like it sodding culture. Dh has been through this twice before; I went through a very painful and protracted redundancy that finally ended last year. Lept into the first job I could take which was a disaster and went freelance five months ago. Which is going OK so far, but we can't live on my three-day a week freelance (uncertain) earnings. Oh God.

Dh being very chin-up and constructive about it, bless him, but he's been working so hard for this damn company, creating all sorts of bloody fantastic stuff off his own back. Grrr.

Plus he has been applying for other jobs anyway and has been getting absolutely nowhere. F*ck.

I found this job vacancy recently when I was looking, I doubt it would be suitable but I am posting it regardless

On top of everything else, how stressful.
I don't think much comes up in my line of work relevant to your dh's skills but I will keep my eyes peeled as I assume arts-based stuff might be appealing as well as publishing?

he WILL find something, he just has to keep trying (stressful in the meantime, I know, but he seems to be going about it the right way.

I am a bad person who just snapped at dh when he finally got up. Oops.

Just wanted to sympathise with you Edam. My dh was made redundant at the end of June (Insurance industry) and has STILL not found a job. Its no fun at all.
