np is yours interest only, endowment, discounted, or just bog standard repayment - wonder if we're getting ripped off then for 600 p.m. for £92k!!!

nailpolish · 21/10/2005 10:45

dh always says its loosely £5-6 per £1000, but thats just him maybe

zippitippitoes · 21/10/2005 10:46

It depends whether it is interest only in which case you need to know how you will eventually repay the interest and it also depends on your satatus as to how good a rate you may get

nailpolish · 21/10/2005 10:46

its interest only fixed rate (cant remember the rate, maybe 5%?) fixed for 5 yrs

just a guesstimate though on the %

FrightfullyPoshFloss · 21/10/2005 10:47

Thats the price of the interest only mortgage (for 3 years) I've been looking at for 120K.

nailpolish · 21/10/2005 10:47

is yours endowmetn MTS?

GeorgieVickyLou · 21/10/2005 10:47

we are paying £574 a month on £107k mortgage but we did put down quite a big deposit (if that makes a difference) lots of bank websites have mortgage calculators which might give you a better idea..

mummytosteven · 21/10/2005 10:49

nope, bog standard repayment with Nationwide.

mummytosteven · 21/10/2005 10:49

we put down I think about 20% deposit, so that may have got us a more favourable rate.

FangAche · 21/10/2005 10:52

We have just been given a mortgage promise from Halifax.

£573 per month for a £115k mortgage over 30 yrs fixed for 2yrs.

nailpolish · 21/10/2005 10:52

but mts £600 for a £92K mortgage is a lot

our house was £147K and we put down a deposit of £50K so our mort is £97K and we pay £555 per month

alliance and leicester fixed rate for 5 yrs

when the 5 years is up we will shop around for anotehr fixed rate deal

i like to know what i am going to be paying each month, for a fixed period of time

nailpolish · 21/10/2005 10:53

our mort is for 20 yrs

bunny2 · 21/10/2005 10:55

M2S, that's a good point - we can put down a big deposit - our house is paid for but I want to move to a better area and would need a small mortgage to do so. SO if we put down about 75% deposit we might get a really good rate then?
