Need to rant!!
We're busy having our loft converted to create an extra room and a shower room. In the process the various builders and contractors seem intent on DESTROYING the rest of our house... Just in the last two days I've had all of the following:
- crap resealing of the bath panel at a wonky angle and white sealing stuff left all over the bath
- cracks appearing in the plaster above our double glazed windows under where the loft will be (Clearly the structure has moved!)
- General hacking to pieces of my utility room (redecorated just a few years ago) while boiler replaced - leaving ugly exposed copper pipes in places they shouldn't be (have now forced them to redo this so it is less obtrusive - but WHY didn't they do this in the first place??)
- dirty water gushing out of radiators onto my beige carpets (when DH 'bleeds' radiators he catches it with a cloth/ bowl)
- general filth and oily handprints on wallpaper/ paintwork etc in places we weren't intending to redecorate...
Are there ANY builders who actually CARE about people's homes?! We're going to need to spend a fortune redecorating our house at this rate.
