SOBBING AFTER SCHOOL!

My dd (9 years old), has finally told me that she has had a terrible day at school, her two best friends called her a wolf as she has quite dark hairs on her arms - she is so upset!

Why are kids so cruel?

These were her two best friends and my dd is very quiet and shy! I've explained to her that she has dark hair because she takes after me - and showed her my arms too - not excessively hairy, but noticeable!

She doesn't want to go into school tomorrow!, stupid, cruel, nasty, hurtful children!!!

I have a 10 year old and she often comes home after a bad day crying Normally something sill (although I think your daughters reasons for being upset are far from silly)

She hasn't actually had it so bad she wants to stay off school but it's awful how girls are just so bithchy from such a young age.

Obviously bleaching creams are not appropriate for a 9 year old so not sure if there is anything practical you can do other than be there for her and encourage her to turn the other cheek and ignore them. Easier said than done I know.

Thanks for your comments, Magnolia1, I tried to tell her that it's normal to have hair on your arms and legs and told her that because she has mid. brown hair it is more noticeable than her friends (who are both blonde).

She has just seen her friend when we went to the sweet shop, her friend said, "hello", but my daughter ignored her - she said that even if her friends said "sorry" it wouldn't make her feel better. She can't believe her friends have been so nasty - poor little love!!
