Has anyone got a range cooker...

... that's dark brown, five gas rings, one large and one small electric oven, two thin gold coloured lines around the glass part of the oven doors, gold coloured knobs and things... AND no maker's name written on it anywhere! We inherited such a cooker from the previous occupants when we bought our house (got it included in the price) and now one of the ovens has gone wrong. I called a chap out to look at it, but he couldn't do anything (a) because he's not Corgi registered, and although it's the electric oven that has gone wrong there is gas going to the appliance (hob) so he can't touch it, and (b) because we have no way of knowing what breed of oven it is, so even if he knew what was wrong with it, he wouldn't know what parts to order. I haven't got a forwarding address or phone number for the people we bought our house from. I know it's a long shot, but has anyone got a similar sounding oven, and know what make it is? I don't want to have to spend a fortune on a new cooker if it can be fixed.

Thanks

Ellbell

Haven't got one but you could try looking on websites like Currys/Comet etc. to see if you can find your model

Sorry... had to be away from computer for a while.

Thanks for that idea NotActually... I haven't had time to look yet, but I will do so. However, the cooker is probably somewhere over 5 years old, so probably obsolete by now! It might give me some hints though...

Thanks

Do any of the doors/drawers (?) have one of those tiny plates inside with the serial no. on? There must be one somewhere.

You'd think so wouldn't you, JanH? But I can't find one anywhere. I probably need to pull it out from the wall (grim thought... could be anything lurking behind there!) and have a look at the back of it, because there is nothing on the front.
